As with most modern cameras, our Canon digital camera has the capability to make small video clips. While we will never be 'Stephen Spielbergs', some of the clips give a little more of the flavour of our travels. You will need a broadband link to view these clips, a dial-up modem will not work. Sorry.

Morning Parade - Apia, Samoa, August 2008
Every morning, the Samoan Police in Apia march from their station to the government building to salute the Samoan Flag as it is raised. A nice tradition enjoyed by the tourists. The full story is here.

Opening of the Tongan Parliament - May 2008

Palmerston Island, Cook Island Archipelago. September 2007
During the final stages of our sail across the Pacific from Panama to New Zealand, we visited Palmerston Island, a small community started by one British man, William Marsters, and three Polynesian wives back in the 19th Century. Voyaging through French Polynesia, July 2007
The voyage through French Polynesia was everything we could have hoped for (other than the weather between the island groups). Here is a video of some of the sights and sounds. The gentleman singing at the end is Norbert, the local floating fruitman (he sells fruit to passing boats). As we were chatting, we noticed a hideous ulcerated wound on his thigh were a coral cut had turned bad. Ruth being a noble soul patched him up and gave him some dressings, and Norbert sang her a song to show his gratitude. The full story is here.

Orinocco Cruise, Aug-Sep 2006
Having slaved away for 5 weeks on our annual haul-out in the heat, humidity and insect ridden yard in Trinidad, we felt we deserved a short holiday. With friends on two other boats (La Gitana and SeaLoon), we spent two weeks in ina tributary of the Orinocco delta called the Manamo River.The full story is here and here.
